Baskin-Robbins launches new store design
Ice cream shop franchisor Baskin Robbins has unveiled an international store design that will be applied to both new and existing locations.
As part of an effort to expand in major cities across Canada, ice cream shop franchisor Baskin Robbins has unveiled an international store design that will be applied to both new and existing locations.
Two franchises already feature the new design. One is in the Promenade Shopping Centre in Vaughan, Ont. (pictured), and the other is in Ottawa. They feature new décor elements, lounge-style seating, interactive menu displays, ‘pink spoon’ door handles and textured walls reminiscent of waffle cones.
“I’ve seen an increase in customer traffic and satisfaction since introducing the design concept,” says Lina Qu, franchisee for the Ottawa location. “We notice families enjoying the new, comfortable seating for longer periods, taking in the welcoming atmosphere of our shop.”
The franchisor plans to have 10 to 15 other Canadian shops remodelled before the end of 2012, while also focusing on new growth in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
“We are actively seeking new franchisees with a strong financial background and a passion for their local communities,” says Bob Tipple, Baskin Robbins Canada’s director and general manager (GM). “By joining our team, they become part of a beloved ice cream brand with more than 65 years of experience in the industry.”
Reportedly the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty shops, Baskin Robbins recently celebrated both its 40th anniversary and its 100th location in Canada. The new store design is intended to combine the brand’s heritage and reputation for hospitality with a more modern, sophisticated customer experience.
